Chinatown Film ProjectBe part of the Chinatown Film Project ! In a three-part series, 20 filmmakers present short films featuring New York’s Chinatown and Chinatowns all over the globe. Now you and your film can be part of this project too!
We want you to share your short films, up to 7 minutes long, about your city’s Chinatown. We’re interested in large metropolitan Chinatowns as well as single strip mall long Chinatowns. We want all formats, from camera phone videos to Super 8mm films. This project is about re-seeing Chinatown through the eyes of filmmakers. And it’s about taking the art of Chinatown through the eyes of filmmakers. And it’s about taking the art of filmmaking to the streets of Chinatowns the world over. Films will be featured in MOCA’s inaugural exhibition when the museum’s new space opens in early 2009. Films will also screen via the Tribeca Film Institute, Film Independent, the Center for Asian American Media, and other venues worldwide.
